Rebuilt Transmission Cost And Services?

does anyone know how much a rebuilt transmission would cost, and would you rather purchase one or get service from a car repair shop, by the way does anyone know the price of a transmission by either pep boys, advanced auto parts, or NAPA?
Additional Information: 1993 dodge intrepid 3.3 transmission, car broke down, transmission needed, or repaired at shop

    1993 dodge intrepid 3.3 transmission
    I am fairly certain rockauto.com would have one.

    If I had transmission problems I would just rebuild mine… they are not that hard to do with the proper books and tools.
