Texas Auto Title Not Transferred, Now Tickets Not Mine?

I sold my Spyder (car) back in March.
The people I sold it to never transferred the title and now have outstanding tickets against it.
My ex-husband was bragging to my neighbor saying something that I have/will have a warrant out for ME since the car is still in my name. Evidently the city/county mailed something to my old PO Box (which my ex has reopened) and he intercepted the letter and isn’t about to give it to me.
I do have the top part of the title to mail, about the title not being changed – BUT – it still shows Mitsubishi Motor Credit, not my info. I also have a bill of sale.
~ Where do I begin? How do I find out IF I have a warrant and WHERE it would be coming from? I think the guy that bought my car is in Grand Prairie, but I’m not sure.
My neighbor that relayed this info is a dealer and has a wrecker service and will go ‘repo’ my car when this is resolved.

  1. call the municipal court to determine your warrant status. I would also report your ex-husband opening your mail. that is a federal offense
THEN, provide the court with the documentation you have and give them all the information on the parties that you sold the car to.
