I paid the fee for registration fee in 2008-2009 but never got the smog done. Well, I was just wondering how much it would cost to renew the registration now. I didnt receive a notice for the 2009-2010 registration and am curious. I try to check it online but the RENEWAL ID NUMBER was invalid now.

He is not paying, so teh Dealership is getting me on the registration as (or). If I am on the registration am I allowed to take this truck and trade it in to the dealership. Before I couldn;t because I wasn’t on registration, and he wanted me arrested. I have been making payments etc.. I want to make sure I can’t get in trouble agin for taking the truck. I am stressed, because this kid doesnt care about my credit. I have a court date in small claims but not for another 2 months, so far he owes me 2000.00, What do you think I should do take the truck now or wait for court date.

Ask the finance company first. If they have no problem with it look at the title. If it says “John Doe AND Mary Smith” he will have to sign his interest over to you, and would both need to go to the DMV to take of it. If it say “John Doe OR Mary Smith” you can do it yourself. There will probably be a fee involved.

Is there any way that she can insure the car while it’s still in my name? Or is there a way for me to be the “legal owner” and she the registered owner, or is that what only banks do? I paid cash. The dealership said that they would mail me the title/odometer reading/etc within a week.. it’s just their standard procedure. I say that that’s fine, wait two weeks only to receive nothing in the mail, call the dealership who says that they’ll send it out the next day. I wait another week and call them again – they forgot and will overnight it to me. By the time I get this overnighted package with the materials I have 2 business days to register my car. I go to the DMV the first day and they say that the dealership didn’t sign my title so I get it signed later that day. The next day I go to the DMV only to find that the odometer readings on my title were incorrect and due to a stupid mistake the dealership managed to make it look like the odometer went backwards 30 miles while it was in their care. At this point I call the dealership who needs to get a new title issued from the state and send it to me. They say it’s in the mail. My car was supposed to be registered 3 days ago. What would you do? Is this a breach of contract? Could I get in trouble if pulled over? I love my car.. but this is messed up.
